There's funding available in every state that can cover evidence-based professional development like RAMSR training, and this page brings it all together in one place. For each state we break down the program, who's eligible, what it covers, and exactly how to put it toward RAMSR. You'll also find a step-by-step guide for each state, so you know precisely what to do next.

Three states. Three programs. One goal.

Each program funds evidence-based professional development and programs to support children's development and educator capability. RAMSR is designed to align with all three.

How to use Kindy Uplift funding for RAMSR — step by step
1

Confirm your eligibility

Check that your service holds Kindergarten Program Provider (KPP) approval and is participating in Free Kindy. If you are unsure, contact kindyuplift@qed.qld.gov.au or speak with your advisory support organisation.

2

Enquire Now

3

Include RAMSR in your Kindy Uplift Plan

4

Get your plan endorsed

Your Kindy Uplift advisor will review and endorse your plan. Once endorsed, you are approved to proceed with spending your allocation on the included supports.

5

Book your RAMSR training

Contact us to schedule your in-centre training day. We will confirm your booking and provide all invoicing details. Your Kindy Uplift funds can be used to cover the cost of the training day and associated resources.

Why RAMSR fits Kindy Uplift

Kindy Uplift requires services to use funding for evidence-based initiatives that lift outcomes for kindergarten children. RAMSR is connected to QUT-backed research including multiple randomised controlled trials, with demonstrated outcomes in self-regulation, attention, inhibitory control, prosocial behaviour, and school readiness — all directly relevant to the Kindy Uplift intent.

Kindy Uplift also prioritises building educator capability. RAMSR is specifically an educator capability-building program — it trains educators to use practical, repeatable strategies that they embed into everyday routines. This aligns directly with how Kindy Uplift is designed to be used.

Victoria

School Readiness Funding

School Readiness Funding (SRF) is a permanent, ongoing part of the Victorian kindergarten funding model. It provides kindergarten services with funding to purchase programs and supports from an approved menu — to build the capacity of educators and families to support children's learning and development. RAMSR is listed on the SRF Menu.

Who is eligible

  • All Victorian early childhood services delivering a state-funded kindergarten program
  • Includes long day care services delivering funded kinder
  • Supports 3-year-old and 4-year-old kindergarten programs
  • Funding is needs-based — ranging from $1,000 to $300,000+ per service

What it covers

  • Programs and supports from the SRF Menu (externally validated)
  • Wellbeing, social and emotional development
  • Communication, language, literacy and numeracy
  • Access, inclusion and participation
  • Up to 25% of allocation used flexibly (for services over $5,000)

Key requirements

  • 2-year planning cycle from 2025 (previously annual)
  • Plan developed with your Early Childhood Improvement Branch
  • Mid-year review and end-of-period acquittal required
  • Services under $5,000 must spend all on the Menu
  • Flexible spending must align with SRF priority areas
How to use School Readiness Funding for RAMSR — step by step
1

Find out your SRF allocation

Your funding amount is determined by the level of need of children enrolled at your service, based on parental occupation and education data. Contact your local Early Childhood Improvement Branch if you are unsure of your allocation.

2

Check the SRF Menu for RAMSR

RAMSR is listed on the Victorian School Readiness Funding Menu under the Wellbeing priority area — social, emotional, and executive function. You can access and book RAMSR directly as a Menu item, no flexible spending required.

3

Include RAMSR in your 2-year SRF Plan

Work with your Early Childhood Improvement Branch to add RAMSR to your 2-year SRF Plan. Plans should align RAMSR to your service's data and the Wellbeing priority area (self-regulation, social and emotional development, executive function). We can provide supporting documentation and an evidence summary.

4

Enquire Now

Talk with our team about your centre's context, goals, and what RAMSR training would look like for your service. We will confirm pricing and provide all the details you need for your plan submission.

5

Confirm your booking and deliver training

Once your plan is approved by your Early Childhood Improvement Branch, book your RAMSR training day. We handle everything else — in-centre delivery, resources, session plans, and follow-up support.

Why RAMSR fits School Readiness Funding

The SRF Wellbeing priority area covers social, emotional, and executive function development — the exact outcome areas RAMSR is designed to strengthen. Research shows RAMSR supports self-regulation, attention, impulse control, prosocial behaviour, and school readiness — all directly relevant to Victoria's SRF priority outcomes.

For services using flexible funding, RAMSR also aligns with the Access, Inclusion and Participation priority by providing consistent co-regulation strategies that support all children, including those with additional needs, to participate more meaningfully in group learning.

How to use Preschool Boost funding for RAMSR — step by step
1

Confirm your Flying Start partner status

Preschool Boost is available to Flying Start partner services. If you are partnering to deliver 3-year-old and/or 4-year-old preschool from 2026, you will receive a Preschool Boost allocation. Contact your OECD Local Team to confirm your allocation amount and eligibility.

2

Review your AEDC data

Use your Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) data to identify priority areas for your community. RAMSR is particularly relevant where children show developmental vulnerability in social competence, emotional maturity, or language and cognitive skills — all areas RAMSR supports.

3

Enquire Now

Talk with our team about how RAMSR aligns with your community's AEDC data and your service's priorities. We will provide a quote, evidence summary, and support documentation to include in your Preschool Boost Plan.

4

Complete your Preschool Boost Plan (August–November)

Use the OECD Preschool Boost planning placemat to document how RAMSR will address your identified developmental priorities. Select RAMSR from the approved menu and submit your plan to your OECD Local Team for approval — approval typically takes within 3 weeks of submission.

5

Receive Q1 payment and book your training

Once your plan is approved, Quarter 1 payments are made to partner services from January. Book your RAMSR in-centre training day and begin embedding RAMSR strategies into your daily routines. We provide all resources and session materials.

Why RAMSR fits Preschool Boost

Preschool Boost funds programs aligned with the five AEDC developmental domains — including social competence, emotional maturity, and language and cognitive skills. RAMSR evidence directly supports outcomes in these areas, making it straightforward to justify RAMSR in your Preschool Boost Plan.

The program also specifically funds educator training and upskilling — which is exactly what RAMSR delivers. A single in-centre training day equips your entire educator team with practical, repeatable strategies grounded in evidence. That is precisely the kind of investment Preschool Boost was designed to support.

Important — please verify current details with your state authority This page provides general guidance on how RAMSR may align with state government funding programs as of 2025–2026. Funding eligibility criteria, allocation amounts, planning requirements, and menu inclusions are subject to change. Always verify current details with your relevant state authority — Kindy Uplift (QLD): earlychildhood.qld.gov.au | School Readiness Funding (VIC): vic.gov.au/school-readiness-funding | Preschool Boost (SA): earlychildhood.sa.gov.au — or speak directly with your assigned advisor or Local Team. RAMSR does not guarantee funding approval and recommends all centres conduct their own due diligence.
